Giannis Antetokounmpo is out for tonight's friendly game against Spain with knee soreness, according to Harris Stavrou of Sport24.

The staff of the national team decided to protect the Greek Freak in order to be ready for the next games, via the report.

Shortly after, the Greek Basketball Federation confirmed the information, stating the "precautionary reasons".

Greece will play Spain for the second time in three nights. The match will take place at the sold-out WiZink Center, Madrid (19:30 CEST).

With Giannis now out of the squad, Greece will line up 13 players against the Spaniards.

The Greek NT is still missing Georgios Papagiannis and Kostas Sloukas due to injuries.

Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated in the first preparation cycle game versus Spain and improved his personal scoring record with the Greek national team.
