Following the departure from Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Achille Polonara has officially found his new club.
Anadolu Efes Istanbul have officially announced the addition of the Italian forward with the signing of a 1+1 deal.
"Honored and super excited for this new chapter with Anadolu Efes," Polonara tweeted following the announcement.
Polonara left Italy in 2019 to join Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he played for two seasons and won the ACB title in 2020. He averaged 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds with Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague last season.
Together with the team, Polonara won the Turkish League this year after defeating the two-time reigning EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes.
According to multiple reports, Virtus Segafredo Bologna were also in the mix for the forward, but a complicated relationship with Tornike Shengelia is cited as one of the main reasons for the forward not joining the club, although the team was interested.
