John Wall recently signed a two-year, $13.2 million deal with Los Angeles Clippers. In his first comments, after officially signing the new contract Wall was hoping to be able to fill the missing component of a point guard on the Clippers.

5-time NBA All-Star, who is currently with the team in Las Vegas, also said he is excited to be joining the most talented roster he has been a part of in his career.

Wall will have two All-NBA talents to play alongside next season in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

"I don't have to do it every night, I don't have to be Batman every night for us to win," Wall said on Saturday.

That's the ultimate goal for me is [at] this part of my career, I don't want to have to be the Batman every night to try to win," Wall continued.

"On our team that we have, I think anyone can be Batman," Wall added.

The 31-year-old guard has not played since April 23, 2021. Wall sat out last season with the Houston Rockets, who were rebuilding and playing with young players.

The 1.90-meter tall guard has only played a total of 40 games in the past three seasons. All 40 with the Houston Rockets during the 2020-21 season.

Wall missed the 2019-20 season due to an Achilles' tendon injury. The All-Star has also only played in a total of 73 games combined over the 2017-18 and 2018-2019 seasons due to injuries. However, Wall said that de doesn't think about injuries once he start playing.

"When I get between those four lines, I don't have an injury, I don't think about it," Wall said.

"I go out there and compete," said Wall. "I work hard every day to try to get back to this position to be back in the league," added Wall.

Wall opened up about his difficult past three years.

"My last three years, I was in the darkest place I have ever been," said Wall.

"I don't think a lot of people could have gotten through what I went through," the guard continued.

"Losing my mom, losing my grandma, tearing my Achilles'," Wall explained.

"Going through all that adversity and just trying to find myself and then getting some of that love more than anything taken away from me," Wall added.

Wall who is from Raleigh, North Carolina last played for the Rockets in the 2020-21 season, when he averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steal in 40 games.

First overall pick from the 2010 NBA draft, Wall spent his first 9 NBA career years with the Washington Wizards until he got traded to the Rockets in 2020.
