Igor Kokoskov has been officially appointed as assistant coach to Steve Nash by the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are the eighth team in the Serbian coach's NBA career.
The last season Serbian coach was an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks, after leaving EuroLeague team Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul.
Besides Kokoskov, the Nets have also named Adam Caporn and Trevor Hendry as assistant coaches. The three new assistants will join Jacque Vaughn, Brian Keefe, Tiago Splitter, Royal Ivey, and Ryan Forehan-Kelly on Head Coach Steve Nash's staff.
In the 2018-2019 season, the now 50-year-old was the head coach of the Phoenix Suns and was the first-ever European-born head coach in the NBA.
In 2004 Kokoskov became an NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons as an assistant. As head coach, Kokokskov has won the 2017 EuroBasket with the Slovenian national team.
