Chet Holmgren, who was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the second pick in this year's NBA Draft, played after signing his rookie deal shortly before the game.

The 20-year-old Holmgren made his unofficial NBA debut at the Salt Lake City Summer League. From the opening tip, he was blocking shots and burying 3-pointers on both ends of the floor.

Holmgren finished the game with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 blocks shooting 4-of-6 from 3-point range and 7-of-9 from the field over 24 minutes. Oklahoma City cruised to a 98-77 (29-9, 18-23, 29-18, 22-27) win over the host Utah Jazz.

The American prospect was told post-game that he set a Utah Summer League record with his six blocked shots, Holmgren replied, "Only six? That's the record? Oh, well I'm coming to break it again."

Holmgren arrives at the Thunder as the reigning WCC Defensive Player of the Year with the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

In his lone season at Gonzaga, Holmgren averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.7 blocks, and 1.9 assists. The Bulldogs entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed but lost in a regional semifinal to Arkansas.

In this game, OKC received a big contribution from 2021 lottery pick Josh Giddey who double-doubled with 14 points and 11 assists.

The Serbian Aleksej Pokusevski had 11 points, while Frenchman Ousmane Dieng, who went 11th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, scored 10 points.
