Last week, 5-time NBA All-Star Wall has exercised a $47.4 million player option for the 2022-23 season with the Houston Rockets, but Wall agreed to give back $7 million in salary to complete a buyout with the Rockets and become a free agent, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
The 31-year-old did not play a single game with the team last season as the two sides failed to come to an agreement on a role. Wall last suited up for the Rockets in the 2020-21 season, when he averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 40 games.
During the 2019-2020 season, the veteran point guard was injured with a torn Achilles. Before that he spent 9 years with the Washington Wizards, where he got drafted as the number one pick in the 2010 NBA draft.
