Stefano Tonut is about to sign a 2+1 contract with AX Armani Exchange Milan, according to Tuttosport.
As Vincenzo Di Schiavi of La Gazzetta dello Sport previously reported, Ettore Messina's squad targeted a long-time Umana Reyer Venice player (2015-present) to bolster the department of the Italian players.
The player will be able to leave Venice in the summer by taking advantage of the €200,000 EuroLeague exit. Tonut's deal will expire in 2023.
Milan was ready to pay even more for him last summer, per multiple reports.
The 28-year-old shooting guard registered 9.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 10.2 PIR in 17 EuroCup duels this year.
Stefano Tonut is a two-time Italian League champion with Umana Reyer (2017, 2019).
He was also an important piece for the Italian national team in Tokyo Olympics. Over 4 contests (26.6 minutes), he averaged 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 9.8 PIR. Italy was eliminated in the quarterfinals stage by France.
