The All-EuroLeague First Team member Mike James has reached an agreement with AS Monaco, sources say BasketNews.
According to BasketNews sources, both sides agreed to extend the cooperation for two more years.
James averaged 16.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 18.1 PIR per EuroLeague game this season.
He led the EuroLeague rookies to the playoffs and forced Olympiacos to Game 5 in front of Kevin Durant.
In the series against the Reds, James averaged 17.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 20.8 PIR in the playoffs.
A 31-year-old guard made the MVP of the season conversation, scoring at least 20 points in 13 games.
James posted 31 points against Fenerbahce Istanbul, poured in 29 over Panathinaikos Athens, and scored 27 vs. back-to-back EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes Istanbul.
The EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) named him the MVP of the EuroLeague season.
An extension with Mike James was a top priority assignment for Monaco entering the 2022 free agency.
Monaco also has renewed Donta Hall (three years), Alpha Diallo (three years), Donatas Motiejunas (two years), and head coach Sasa Obradovic (three years).
John Brown, Jordan Loyd, Elie Okobo, and Jaron Blossomgame are set to join AS Monaco the following season.
