Walter Tavares blocked Vitto Brown's shot with two seconds remaining and secured Real Madrid (21-9) a close victory over Coosur Real Betis (9-21) in the Spanish ACB league 71-69 (18-16, 9-20, 20-9, 24-24) after overcoming the opponents' late surge.

Real were comfortably leading by 8 points after Sergio Llull's two-pointer with 4 minutes left in the game when Real Betis went on an impressive 12-2 run to recapture the lead. Vitto Brown's layup put Betis on top 69-67, and Pablo Laso had to take a timeout.

However, the Spanish powerhouse showed who the better team was in the final minute. A chaotic second-chance possession ended with an Adam Hanga three-pointer to give Real a 70-69 lead.

The destiny of the home team was left in Vitto Brown's hands but his driving layup was forcefully blocked by Tavares, and Betis did not manage to orchestrate a successful attack anymore.

Trey Thompkins was registered for the Real's roster for the first time since the conflict with the team but ultimately did not appear on the court.

The EuroLeague team was led by a double of strong performances from Gueschon Yabusele and Walter Tavares. Yabusele scored 16 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and drew 6 fouls for a total of 22 PIR. Tavares, on the other hand, registered 10 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks for 25 PIR.

Vitto Brown was the top scorer in Real Betis with 14 points on 5/7 shooting, while also grabbing 3 rebounds for 11 PIR.

Real Madrid: Guerschon Yabusele 16 (3/5 3PT, 9 REB, 3 AST, 22 PIR), Nigel Williams-Goss 13 (4/5 2PT, 3 REB, 3 AST, 3 STL), Walter Tavares 10 (14 REB, 2 BLK, 25 PIR).

Real Betis: Vitto Brown 14 (2/3 2PT, 3/4 3PT, 3 REB), Dairis Bertans 13 (4/7 3PT), Jacob Wiley 10 (5/8 2PT).
