After his career-high night against the Orlando Magic, Kyrie Irving spoke to the reporters in the press conference.

The Brooklyn Nets point guard scored 60 points against the Magic, but due to New York City's vaccine mandate, he'll be unable to play most of the rest of the regular season games at the Barclays Center.

Irving said that he still hopes that the decision of the city will be changed: "My faith in things turning around hasn't changed, it hasn't wavered. But I wouldn't be able to sit up here and talk you guys comfortably unless I had a big supporting group behind me", the point guard said.

The Brooklyn Nets star is allowed to enter the Barclays Center, the team's home arena, but only as a spectator.

"I should get a press pass," Irving joked. "Let me start doing what you guys do: start asking questions".

All media members can access the arenas only if they are fully vaccinated and have received the booster, per NBA policy.

The player admitted, though, that watching the game from courtside wasn't exactly the best feeling in the world.

"It's a little awkwardness," Irving explained. "But showing up there with my family and getting a warm embrace from New York, Brooklyn, just everybody that's there to support the Nets, and support our organization, support me. And just support what's going out there and want to see a change."
