Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, one more club is leaving the VTB United League. After Kalev/Cramo Tallinn left the league yesterday, Enea Zastal BC Zielona Gora have announced that they are leaving the league as well.

"We would like to thank the VTB United League for exceptional three years of sports competition at the highest level," the club announced in the official statement. "At present, however, there are more important things than basketball. We stand against violence and war. We suspend our participation in the competition."

Before leaving the championship, Zielona Gora were last in the VTB United League standings with 2 wins and 11 losses. However, the club sits at the top of the Polish Basketball League's standings with 16 wins and 8 losses.

The former Soviet countries reacted swiftly to the war in Ukraine, both cancelling the games their clubs were supposed to play against Russian teams, and refusing to fly to Russia for the matches against this country's teams.
