After Kostas Melayess from Gazzetta.gr reported last week about the two sides reaching an agreement, the news broke the European basketball market. According to the report, the total value of the entire contract is 6 million US dollars.

"I am very glad to have the opportunity to join such a great club as CSKA," Pangos said in the press release. "I am happy to help this team win titles and, in the end, achieve the main goal. I look forward to the arrival, I want to start playing instantly. I can't wait for me and my family to come to Moscow."

The head coach Dimitris Itoudis also couldn't hide happiness regarding Pangos' arrival.

"We all hail Kevin Pangos… He is here after all," Itoudis said. "I say this because he knows that we wanted him to move much earlier. But better late than never. Kevin will certainly add knowledge and experience in creativity to our game. He is in good shape. We look forward to helping him adapt."

"Teammates and coaches will do their best to get Kevin into our system as soon as possible. Thanks to President Andrei Vatutin and sponsors for making this transition possible," Itoudis added.

"For us, he would be ideal," CSKA president Andrey Vatutin had told in an interview with BasketNews this season. "He's a game-changer for any EuroLeague team."

Last season, Pangos made the All-EuroLeague Team, averaging 13.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists for Zenit St Petersburg. After becoming one of the premier names in European basketball, Pangos decided to chase his dream and left for the NBA.

Pangos appeared in 24 NBA games for Cleveland Cavaliers this season and averaged 1.6 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. The newly-signed CSKA guard had 8 points and 4 assists in his career-high game against the Atlanta Hawks on New Year's Eve.

CSKA currently sit 6th in the EuroLeague standings with 14 wins and 10 losses. After the domestic cup break, the club travels to Germany next week to battle against FC Bayern Munich.
