Ahead of the Italian Cup competition on the weekend, Virtus Segarfedo Bologna have announced that they are parting ways with Ty-Shon Alexander.
According to the official announcement, the team has consensually terminated the contract with the player. The team thanks Ty-Shon for the professionalism that the guard always demonstrated, the statement says, and wishes the player luck for the next stage of his basketball career.
Alexander averaged 4.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists for 4.7 PIR in the 7DAYS EuroCup this season for the Italian team. The player also had a brief stint with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA last year, averaging 0.6 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 9 games played for the club.
Virtus Bologna currently stand 5th in the Group B of the 7DAYS EuroCup standings with 6 wins and 6 losses. The club faces Umana Reyer Venice in its next match in the competition.
Happy Casa Brindisi are the next opponent for Virtus Bologna in the Italian cup. The match is scheduled to played on February 17th at 20:45 CET.
The player will remain in Italy until the end of the season as he has signed a deal with Allianz Trieste.
