Croatian Basketball Federation officially announced that Damir Mulaomerovic is the new head coach of the Croatian national team. He replaced the previous specialist Veljko Mrsic.

The newly-elected coach is a former Croatian national team member and former national team coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

He served as an assistant to the Croatian national team since February 2020.

During his playing days, Mulaomerovic became the EuroLeague champion in the 2001-02 season with Panathinaikos. He also played for such powerhouses as Cibona, PAOK, Olympiacos, Fortitudo, Efes Pilsen, and Real.

Damir Mulaomerovic started his coaching path similarly to his playing career: the 47-year-old first tried his luck at Sloboda and then at Cibona. At the moment, he is the coach of Cedevita Junior.
