Chicago Bulls forward Derrick Jones Jr. is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a bone bruise in his right knee, The Athletic reported Thursday.

Jones, 24, was injured in the opening minute of Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets and did not return. Without Jones' defensive presence, the Bulls were crushed 138-112 by the Nets.

Jones was averaging 6.3 points with 3.4 rebounds in 31 games (eight starts) with the Bulls this season. In six NBA seasons with Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, Portland Trail Blazers and Bulls, the former undrafted UNLV product has scored 6.7 points with 3.5 rebounds in 260 games (97 starts).

According to ESPN, the Bulls signed guard Malcolm Hill to a 10-day contract. Hill, 26, played three games with the Atlanta Hawks earlier this season scoring 5.7 points with 2.0 rebounds.
