Green suffered a lower calf setback during the warm-up and still wanted to start the Golden State Warriors home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday to pay tribute to Klay Thompson, who returned after a 2 1/2-year absence.

9 minutes before the match, Warriors official public relations Twitter account posted that Green would be on the court for tipoff but would not participate in the remainder of the game due to the calf issue, per the report.

The 31-year-old big man spent just seven seconds on the floor, committing an intentional foul and being replaced. He never returned and finished the game with multiple zeros in the main statistical categories.

As soon as the news broke of Green's plan, bettors hustled to get bets in on the under on, for example, Green's total points (7.5), rebounds (8.5), and assists (8.5), before sportsbooks could pull the markets off the board, ESPN reports.

Other books weren't as quick to react, and bettors took advantage.

Some bettors parlayed multiple wagers on Green, resulting in long odds and payouts of six figures. The liability on Green under props combined across sportsbooks climbed into the seven figures, via ESPN.

However, several sportsbooks held off paying. They are reviewing the situation and conducting an investigation. Such books try to determine whether bets placed after the news of Green's playing time were on a "known event".
