In his post-signing statement, Stefan Jovic, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens's new addition, said: "I feel ready to join Panathinaikos's practice sessions. If everything goes well, on Monday I will be in Athens to start working with my new team".
It all went south from there. On Monday noon, the Greek club announced that the Serbian guard would travel to Athens on Tuesday due to a personal issue. But Panathinaikos came back with some updates regarding the 31-year-old guard.
Jovic tested positive for COVID a few hours before his departure, which means that he will be joining his new team once he recuperates.
His new arrival date will be announced in due time.
