Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv are on the hunt for a backcourt addition. The Israeli powerhouse targets 25-year-old 1.93 m guard Khyri Thomas, sources tell BasketNews and Moses Barda from "One".

The No. 38 overall pick of the 2018 NBA draft recently made his overseas debut in Spain.

Thomas appeared in two ACB games for Surne Bilbao Basket before getting hurt.

On December 11, Thomas poured in 23 points against Bitci Baskonia.

Thomas joined Bilbao on a short-term agreement to replace injured Andrew Goudelock.

In his short NBA career, Thomas made the headlines last year playing on a 10-day contract with the Houston Rockets.

He averaged 21.5 points on 57.1% shooting in his first two games. On May 8, Thomas scored a career-high 27 points vs. the Utah Jazz and signed a multi-year contract with the Rockets.

In his three NBA seasons with the Rockets and Detroit Pistons, Thomas appeared in 39 games, averaged 4.1 points, one rebound, and 0.9 assists in 10.5 minutes.

Khyri Thomas definitely can score, but he's also a solid defensive player. At Creighton, he was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year twice (2017, 2018).

Maccabi currently stand 13th in the EuroLeague standings.
