After exiting Monday's match against Dallas Mavericks early, Denver Nuggets forward Vlatko Cancar received the verdict on his injury. The Slovenian player has been diagnosed with a fractured right foot and will be out indefinitely.
According to reports, imaging after the loss in Dallas where Cancar got hurt and left the game confirmed the injury. Cancar's next steps (surgery, etc.) are still being discussed.
With Mavs leading 69-63 after a Reggie Bullock driving layup in the final seconds of the third quarter, an unfortunate scene in front of the Denver bench took place moments before where Cancar took an awkward step and had to be carried off the floor.
The 2.03-meter forward from Slovenia started the season slow and didn't receive minutes until the end of November. Since then, he has been averaging 4.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game in 14 matches for the club.
Riddled by injuries and COVID-19 woes, the Nuggets currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with 18 wins and 17 losses.
