Ahead of welcoming the current Euroleague leaders FC Barcelona on Friday, CSKA Moscow cruised to an easy win in the VTB United League against Avtodor Saratov 92-65 (23-17, 29-19, 26-15, 14-14).

The Russian powerhouse got off to a strong start. A three-pointer by Tornike Shengelia, followed by layups from Shengelia and Iffe Lundberg built CSKA a 16-7 lead early, and the team never looked back.

The Moscow's club continued their dominance throughout the second quarter and went off to halftime with a solid 52-36 lead.

The second half was only a formality. The multi-time Euroleague champions proved to be too much for the Saratov club, and finished the game in easy fashion, granting their 8th win in the competition.

CSKA was led by Shengelia who scored 18 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists for 17 PIR. Johannes Voigtmann was his best man with 14 points and 2 rebounds. Marius Grigonis was third in scoring with 11 points and 2 assists.

CSKA played without Will Clyburn and Alexey Shved who were rested by coach Dimitris Itoudis's decision.

The Russian powerhouse sits 7th in the Euroleague standings with 10 wins and 7 losses. The club welcomes Barcelona for a clash of the titans on Friday.
