Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who has missed the past two games with a back injury, intends to play Friday night against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
Mitchell, 25, suffered the injury in Utah's 120-116 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day. The two-time All-Star is expected to face Minnesota with no restrictions.
In 31 games with the Jazz this season, Mitchell is averaging a team-leading 25.4 points. The Louisville product is also averaging 5.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Jazz forward Joe Ingles (back) is questionable for Friday's matchup. Ingles, 34, has played in all 34 of Utah's games this season, averaging 8.0 points, 3.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
In other team news, guard Mike Conley will miss Friday's game to rest, and forward Eric Paschall (personal reasons) has been ruled out for a second straight contest.
