An unexpected turn in Timofey Mozgov's career - the former NBA champion moves to the second basketball league of Russia, per Sports.ru.
The 35-year-old, who spent the 2010-18 period in the NBA, has signed a contract with Runa Basket Moscow. The squad leads the second Russian division with 11 wins and 1 loss.
Mozgov spent the past two seasons with Khimki Moscow Region. Though, he did not play a single match in the first year due to a knee injury.
The 2.16-meter center returned on the court in April after a three-year break (in total).
Last season Mozgov registered 8.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 9 PIR in the VTB United League over 17 minutes.
A long-time member of the Russian national team became the NBA champion with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.
He holds NBA career averages of 6.8 points and 4.9 rebounds in 454 duels.
