Even though Bayern, led by KC Rivers, came back within 3 points (37-40) at the end of the second period (37-40), Baskonia ran away once again in the third.

After 11-2 push, the Basques were in front by 17 points (65-48). Landry Nnoko and Matthew Costello were leading the way during the successful stretch. However, KC Rivers, Augustine Rubit, and Deshaun Thomas' baskets returned Bayern to the fighting distance (55-65) before the last 10 minutes of the match.

Nevertheless, Baskonia started the decisive quarter with a 6-1 push and gained the same, solid 17-point advantage (73-56). Vladimir Lucic and Ognjen Jaramaz tried to ignite their team for the final surge (65-75) but Jason Granger fended off the last effort.

Wade Baldwin was outstanding for Baskonia, posting career-high 30 points (7/11 2PT, 4/7 3PT, 4/4 FT), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 turnovers, 4 drawn fouls, and 33 PIR.

"We were down a lot of guys today, so everybody had to step up. As one of the leaders of this team, we've been in a struggle and it's my job to step up and play well. There was an opportunity tonight for me to do so and there's nothing better than to come back and beat Bayern and Coach Trinchieri. That put a smile on my face tonight," commented Baldwin post-game.

Matthew Costello aided him with 23 points (6/10 2PT, 2/5 3PT, 5/7 FT), 9 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 turnovers, 5 drawn fouls, and 25 PIR.

Simone Fontecchio, Rokas Giedraitis, and Tadas Sedekerskis missed the game For Baskonia due to flu.

Vladimir Lucic was the top performer of Bayern, accumulating 12 points (2/3 2PT, 0/3 3PT, 8/9 FT), career-high 14 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 drawn fouls, and 27 PIR.

"Congratulations to Baskonia. Our worst game. They really kicked us in the butt hard. We didn't have any reaction. And it's really a bad game. It's the first that time my team is a flat line: no reaction, no emotion, no nothing. So that was a very tough loss," said Andrea Trinchieri.

Baskonia: Wade Baldwin 30 (6 REB), Matthew Costello 23 (9 REB), Landry Nnoko 9 (8 REB).

Bayern: KC Rivers 16, Vladimir Lucic 12 (14 REB), Deshaun Thomas 12, Ognjen Jaramaz 10, Othello Hunter 10 (6 REB).
