For the festive weekend, BasketNews presents EuroLeague mid-season awards, consisting of six different categories: the biggest surprise, biggest disappointment, the best quote, the best mid-season signing, All EuroLeague mid-season team, and the MVP.

In this article, BasketNews experts Orazio Cauchi, Uygar Karaca, Giorgos Kyriakidis, Donatas Urbonas, and Miguel Lois Vidal had a look at the best quote of the mid-season.

Orazio: My best quote so far is the one from coach Andrea Trinchieri after the heavy loss against Olympiacos.

The Italian coach didn't point fingers, he just realized that it was a bad night for his team so his main message was: 'It was a bad night but shit happens". Classic Trinchieri.

Uygar: Sasha Djordjevic likes to give some headliners so I won't turn him down. After the game against Maccabi, he said: "Emotions are our enemies. And this is not me, coach Djordjevic is speaking but coach John Wooden says so."

That is fitting because Fenerbahce has this sentimental core, goes up with monster dunks followed by some incomprehensible turnover or an awful shot selection. Might be a season-defining quote for Fenerbahce, who knows.

Giorgos: "I will score, I will pass, I will play defense. Everything you need to win and win titles. I came here to win the EuroLeague."

That's Panathinaikos' new signing Yogi Ferrell talking to the media upon his arrival at Athens International Airport on October 14. It took less than six weeks for everyone to understand and accept that every word in the above-mentioned quote didn't play out the way Ferrell had envisioned.

If we're talking about opinions that don't age well, this one definitely deserves to be labeled as the Benjamin Button of quotes. It was already old when it first came out, an instant classic.

Donatas: "Pressure? Most of us are millionaires. What would I say to people who are looking for a job? We are the luckiest in the world." Sarunas Jasikevicius knows how to get us back to reality.

Miguel: Not an easy one. Each press conference and flash interview gave us interesting quotes, but I'll go with a short Nikola Mirotic's quote after the spectacular win against Anadolu Efes Istanbul.

"Praise to our God, Jesus Christ," he said.
