The young forward-center of LDCL ASVEL Villeurbanne will be off for a period of four to six weeks, the French club announced.

40 days ago, on November 10, ASVEL had announced that Wembanyama would be unavailable for 2-3 weeks due to a small fracture of a finger.

Following the injury of David Lighty, who's going to miss at least two months of action, the French champs have also lost captain Charles Kahudi and big man Raymar Morgan who has yet to debut and is expected back in a few weeks.

"It's not easy for us. It started when we lost one of our best players, David Lighty," Parker said.

"Raymar Morgan, who is our interior presence, hasn't played a game yet. And we had injuries all season, we don't have Charles Kahudi. It's been really hard. We have been hit by COVID-19 also."

So far, Wembanyama has played in six EuroLeague games, in which he averaged 4.2 points and 2.7 rebounds, shooting 21% from the field.
