Despite the fact that Hapoel Jerusalem were interested in signing Jehyve Floyd, the 24-year-old big man will soon be joining forces with Fenerbahce BEKO Istanbul.
Over the two last weeks, Panathinaikos coach Dimitris Priftis had made clear that he wasn't counting on Jehyve Floyd. The American center, who had a very good last season with Hapoel Gilboa Galil, saw limited playing time at the six-time EuroLeague champs and is expected to leave the club in the following days.
According to multiple reports coming from Greece, Floyd asked to be released from PAO in order to be able to sign with his new team, Fenerbahce Istanbul.
In 10 EuroLeague appearances, he averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in almost 10 minutes of action.
The Turkish side was not the only club to show an interest in Floyd, since Hapoel Jerusalem asked about the player's status, while their GM even traveled to Athens about 3 weeks ago.
With Floyd moving to Turkey, Panathinaikos cut down on the number of non-Greek players on the roster, something that Priftis also wanted.
