Nearly a month after parting ways with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Mathias Lessort is joining Partizan NIS Belgrade.
According to the club's official statement, Lessort has joined the team until the end of the season.
The French center has been rumored to join one of the Serbian teams this summer already with both Partizan and Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade showing interest in Lessort.
The 2.06-meter center joined Maccabi back in September after Ante Zizic's injury which sidelined the Croatian for almost two months. After joining the Israeli team, Lessort averaged 7.4 points and 3.4 rebounds for 9.2 PIR in 11 minutes of play.
Lessort will come back to the city he has previously played in as the French center was part of the 2017-2018 Crvena Zvezda team. He then averaged 8.5 points and 5.7 rebounds for 10.7 PIR.
