The French guard referred to his time with the Spanish powerhouse which he joined in 2017, his relationship with Pablo Laso, and the players he had the hardest time defending in games and practices.

“I am very happy to continue being part of Real Madrid. I'm so proud to be here," Causeur said at the beginning before breaking down how Real Madrid managed to be consistent on the highest level.

"Sometimes it is necessary to introduce some changes, but always respecting the backbone of the team that is formed by experienced players, who know the club very well. This has been the strategy of the club in recent years, and results show that we are on the right path," the Frenchman added.

Asked about his future in the Spanish capital, Causeur didn't hesitate to candidly express his wish.

"The ideal thing for me would be to end here my career. I have always wanted to play for Real Madrid and it would be a dream and a privilege to finish here. I give everything every day to achieve this dream."

Coach Pablo Laso, who has been coaching Madrid since 2011, is "very open", according to Causeur. "He has been a player and understands very well what goes through a player's head at any time.

He knows when to put pressure on him and when to set him free. He knows from the beginning how to interact with his players and that is reflected in all the titles he has won."

However, there is something in Laso that particularly stands out. It's his ability to improve almost every player that joins the squad.

"What surprises me most of all is that every player who goes through this squad always improves, no matter how old he is, and that speaks very well of Pablo's work," Causeur said.

Among numerous teammates and opponents that he had to go up against throughout his pro career in the EuroLeague, the 34-year-old can single out some.

"Until I signed with Real Madrid defending Sergio Llull was a nightmare.

In practice, Facundo Campazzo trained very hard, also Luka Doncic of course.

In terms of opponents, I would highlight Vassilis Spanoulis and Juan Carlos Navarro. In my position, those two were the players who have most impacted me in my career.”
