Zalgiris Kaunas power forward Regimantas Miniotas will be forced to the sidelines for a considerable time, as he was diagnosed with a broken metacarpal bone on his right hand.
Miniotas took a hard fall to the ground in practice, and will now miss at least 5-6 weeks of action with the injury.
Having just joined Zalgiris in November, Miniotas made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut, averaging 2 points and 1 rebound in the 4 games he played.
He also took the floor three times in the Lithuanian Basketball League, putting up 6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
The Lithuanian powerhouse is also missing Joffrey Lauvergne and Paulius Jankunas in the big men department.
The French center is back to working out after a shoulder injury but is not expected to play yet. Team captain Paulius Jankunas is still sidelined after meniscus surgery.
Zalgiris hold the last place in the EuroLeague standings, having 3 wins and 12 defeats in their resume. Today the Green and Whites will play against UNICS Kazan in an away game at 17:00 CET.
