After suffering a stunning defeat against Hamburg Towers in the 7DAYS Eurocup last night, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar are shook once again. The head coach Evgeniy Pashutin has decided to step down from the club's head coach position.
It was a pretty successful start to the season for the team. The Russian club has started the Eurocup year with 6 wins in 7 matches, but the loss against the last team in the group seemed to have been the turning point in Pashutin's Lokomotiv career.
Until a new head coach is found, Branko Maksimovic has been appointed as the acting head coach. Lokomotiv will look to rebound in Nizhny Novgorod where they will play a VTB United League match on Saturday.
Lokomotiv Kuban currently sit 3rd in the Group A of the 7DAYS Eurocup with 5 wins and 2 losses. The team is, however, 5th in the VTB United League with 5 wins out of 8 games, with all three losses coming against the Euroleague teams - UNICS Kazan, Zenit St Petersburg, and CSKA Moscow.
