During the final minute of the game, Zenit kept their composure and finished the job from the free-throw line (71-61)
In the final period, once again Zenit started better and reached again a nine-point lead (62-53). James Gist's veteran presence tried to give ASVEL the necessary energy for a comeback but the French side looked just short offensively.
In the third quarter, the Russian side built its biggest lead until that moment (49-90) but ASVEL didn't give up and with a couple of baskets from Chris Jones was able to cut down Zenit's lead to five points at the end of the third quarter (54-49).
In a very balanced first half, Zenit finished with a one-point lead (33-32) behind the solid performance of Billy Baron, who had 11 points in the first 20 minutes.
Alex Poythress was the top scorer for Zenit with 16 points (7/8 2PT, 2/2 FT), 3 rebounds, 1 turnover, and 18 PIR.
For ASVEL the top scorer was William Howard with 12 points (4/4 2PT, 4/4 FT), 2 rebounds, and 13 PIR.
