James Gist will keep playing with ASVEL Villeurbanne, the club's president Tony Parker announced.

"Raymar Morgan will be back in February and we have signed James until the end of the season. He is very good on and off the court, a real leader," Parker explained according to French outlet Le Progres.
Raymar Morgan was operated on his herniated disc on November 2 and has not been able to play a single second this season with ASVEL, which he joined last summer after a great year with Turkish club Karsiyaka.
The 33-year-old big man was replaced by EuroLeague veteran James Gist (2.04m, 35), who had played six years with Panathinaikos and another two seasons with Crvena Zvezda and Bayern Munich.
In the current campaign, Gist has logged 5.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.7 in PIR over 12 EuroLeague contests and 22 minutes of playing time with the team from Lyon.
ASVEL will host Zenit St. Petersburg on Wednesday, without team captain Charles Kahudi, who has been out with a shoulder injury over the last ten days.
