Achille Polonara and Marial Shayok are highly questionable ahead of the coming EuroLeague double-week.
The Italian forward and the Canadian swingman might miss Fenerbahce's (5-9) home contest vs Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (7-7) on Tuesday.
"Danilo Barthel, who is undergoing treatment, will not be able to play in this match. The condition of Marial Shayok, who has a knee injury, as well as of Achille Polonara, who is ill, will be decided on game day," according to the club.
"Shayok and Barthel have not been with us for some time due to their injuries," Fener coach Sasha Djordjevic commented.
"At the moment, Achille is not with the team due to illness and we don't know if he will play or not. But we have to put all our energy into winning. We know the importance of this win for our season and our goals," the Serbian coach added.
"At the same time, Marco Guduric joins the team after taking 10-day paternity leave. I expect him to pick up where he left off at the Monaco game. His performance is very important for our team, but it also gives self-confidence to his teammates," Djordjevic said.
Polonara, 30, has logged 6.6 points, 4 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.7 assists, and 0.6 blocks per EuroLeague contest, and 10.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, one steal, and 0.4 blocks per game in Turkey’s BSL.
Shayok, 26, has contributed 5.3 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.3 rebounds per EuroLeague appearance, and 7.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per BSL contest.
Danilo Barthel remains sidelined after he underwent arthroscopic surgery two months ago but he's still feeling soreness in his knee.
