When two passionate teams meet, things can get heated. It was best illustrated in the Italian Lega Basket clash between Openjobmetis Varese and GeVi Napoli Basket when Alessandro Gentile got sent off.
Napoli were leading 58-46 in the third quarter when Gentile was called for his second personal foul against Jason Rich while trying to get off the screen. The Italian was not satisfied with the call at all.
The forward immediately surged toward the referee in what he believed was not the right call. A quick technical foul did not ease the situation as Gentile became even more furious with the referee's decision.
His teammate Jalen Jones had to hold the forward from causing an even more serious altercation. After getting a second technical, Gentile finally left the court cursing everybody out.
Former AX Armani Exchange Milan player is one of the leaders of the team this season, averaging 14 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists for 11.5 PIR in 29 minutes of play.
