After the victorious match against the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert responded to the recent comments by the Timberwolves rising-star Anthony Edwards.
"I'm motivated every night. People like to take shots at me for no reason. It's funny because I never take shots at anyone...When you're the best in the world at something, people become insecure," said the Frenchman.
One day ago, Edwards spoke to the media and said that he does not believe Gobert is the best rim defender in the league. The shooting guard expressed that this status is reserved for Dallas Mavericks center Kristaps Porzingis.
"Anytime I go against Porzingis, I get no layups," Edwards noted. "I don’t get why we couldn’t finish on Rudy Gobert. He doesn’t put any fear in my heart. I don’t know why."
In last night's duel, Gobert was dominant under the baskets once again. He posted a massive double-double with 17 points, 21 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Not only that, he left Joel Embiid with 19 points and 9 rebounds, even though, the Cameroonian was averaging 34.3 points and 11.7 rebounds in the last three games.
