A day after earning an important home win against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, FC Bayern Munich are hit with a blow. The Bavarian government announced new COVID-19 measures that no longer allow the team to let spectators into the games.

The new regulations will apply until December 15th with a possibility to be renewed further down the line. This marks the first federal law for COVID measures for the region in over a year.

The measures cover two home games for the German side so far - a BBL match against MLP Academics Heidelberg on December 6th, and a Euroleague clash versus Anadolu Efes Istanbul on December 9th.

According to an official club statement, the team remains optimistic about the situation and hopes to see the fans in the stands at the soonest.

Bayern could hold up to 88 percent (5750 spectators) of the Audi Dome at the start of the season, but that number shrank down to only a thousand during the last month. Subsequently, only 842 people watched the match against ASVEL yesterday.

Bayern holds first place in the German BBL league with 8 wins in 12 games, while they currently sit 10th in the Euroleague win 6 wins and 7 losses.
