Surgery is addressing "a little bone particle" in the ankle, Steve Nash said.
There's optimism that Harris can return to the Nets on the shorter end of that timeline, via the announcement.
Harris has missed the last six games since spraining his ankle at Oklahoma City on November 14.
Harris has a $500K bonus in his contract for playing a minimum of 65 games (along with 75% of playoff games) and if Brooklyn wins the NBA championship, according to ESPN insider Bobby Marks.
The 30-year-old sharpshooter is averaging 11.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist over 14 games (29.3 minutes).
The two-time NBA leader in 3-point shooting percentage is hitting 46.6 percent of long-distance attempts this year, second in the league behind teammate Patty Mills at 50.0 percent entering Monday.
He holds similar NBA career averages, accumulating 11.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per 414 duels.
The Eastern Conference-leading Nets (14-6) continue a four-game homestand Tuesday night against the New York Knicks.
