Last night Joel Embiid returned from a three-week (nine-game) COVID-19 absence and was a leader in his team, which suffered a nail-biting defeat over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After the duel, the Cameroonian center admitted that the fight against the disease was very tough.

"I really thought I wasn’t going to make it. It was that bad. I am just thankful to be sitting here," said the 27-year-old.

Embiid also mentioned his first workout was a couple of days ago and it’s a "miracle" he played 45 minutes last night.

"It’s a miracle I played this many minutes... Tonight is on me. I turned the ball over too much (4 times) and missed a couple of free throws," spoke Embiid.

The big man produced 42 points (10/19 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 16/21 FT), 14 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Sixers, however, his last shot was blocked as time expired in the second overtime.

Joel Embiid is averaging 23.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.9 assists over 10 games.
