The 31-year-old and Rockets had agreed on him sitting out until a trade could be found, but the five-time All-Star guard talked to Houston general manager Rafael Stone on Friday about restarting a dialogue on a return to the active roster, per the report. Sides plan to talk again on Sunday.
Last season, Wall played in 40 games and averaged 20.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. 31-year-old still has a two-year $91.7 million contract left.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall owns career averages of 19.1 points, 9.1 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 613 games (601 starts) with the Wizards (2010-19) and Rockets.
The Houston club is experiencing the rebuilding process this season, trusting in their young players, No. 2 overall pick (2021 NBA Draft) Jalen Green, and third-year guard Kevin Porter Jr.
