In the Group A of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, Serbia (1-0) edged out Latvia (0-1) in a high scoring game at the Aleksandr Nikolic hall in Belgrade 101-100 (28-33, 24-23, 22-19, 24-25).

Latvia kicked off the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run, gaining a six-point cushion (83-77). But the hosts retaliated, and Marko Jagodic-Kuridza tied the game at 96 with 1:29 remaining.

Klavs Cavars and Jagodic-Kuridza traded points, and the match was tied with 45 seconds to go. 

Milos Teodosic drew a foul and converted both free throws (100-98). Rihards Lomazs responded by converting both shots at the charity stripe, and the game was tied at 100 with 11 seconds on the clock.

Jogodic-Kuridza drew the foul with 2 seconds remaining, nailing one free throw, winning it for Serbia.

Milos Teodosic led Serbia with 21 points (6/8 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 6/6 FT), 9 assists, 2 rebounds, 3 turnovers, and 27 PIR.

Serbia: Milos Teodosic 21 (9 AST), Aleksa Avramovic 17 (7 AST, 5 REB), Marko Jagodic-Kuridza 16, Alen Smailagic 15.

Latvia: Rihards Lomazs 33 (6/10 3PT), Andrejs Grazulis 17, Dairis Bertans 17, Kristers Zoriks 14 (5 AST).
