In September 2018, Mirza Teletovic announced his retirement from professional basketball. The Bosnian athlete, who at that time was in the NBA, began to suffer health problems related to a pulmonary embolism and ended up hanging up his shoes.

Teletovic has started playing again recently. This time, he is representing KK Turbina of the Bosnian 2nd division and playing in one team with his son.

"For me, it is nothing new, I had been training with them for a long time. In the end, as a person, I am an athlete, I wanted to continue being close to basketball and I kept training every day," said Teletovic to Marca.

"The League is semi-professional, I want to see where I am, how I feel, and if I can play."

In the last game, Mirza scored 38 points while his 13-year-old son posted 11, including the three-pointer after father's assist.

Teletovic is a two-time Liga ACB champion with Baskonia (2008, 2010) and a long-time NBA player (6 years). He has NBA career averages of 8.1 points and 3.2 rebounds over 324 games.
