Spanish National Team head coach Sergio Scariolo announced this Friday the list of the 16 players called up for the qualifiers window for the FIBA World Cup 2023, which will be held between August 25 and September 10 in Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

It is the first squad since both Pau & Marc Gasol announced their retirement from the National Team. A new era for Spain.

Valencia's youngster Jaime Pradilla (2001) is the main novelty, as well as the presence of BAXI Manresa's players Dani Perez and Yankuba Sima. Unicaja is the team with the most players represented, with four (Barreiro, Jaime Fernandez, Diaz, and Brizuela).

"As always, it is a mixture of different concepts. We have debuting players, there are also veterans and a ticker core of players who are already in the orbit of the NT", Scariolo said about the squad.

Spain is in Group G with Ukraine, North Macedonia, and Georgia. In the first window, the Spaniards will visit North Macedonia (November 26) and host Georgia (November 29).
