Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz have a new head coach. The Spanish club officially announced that Dusko Ivanovic was relieved of his duties while Neven Spahija arrives to fill his place.
At the moment, Baskonia have a four-game losing streak and, with a 3-6 record, stand 14th in the EuroLeague.
The situation is not any better on the domestic front as well. With 4 wins and 6 losses, Baskonia are in 11th place after losing to Gran Canaria on Saturday.
Ivanovic came back to Baskonia in December 2019. It was his third stint at the Spanish club, which he coached back in 2000-05 and in 2008-12.
With Ivanovic in charge, Baskonia won all three ACB titles in 2002, 2010, and 2020.
Meanwhile, Spahija recently worked in China with Shanghai Sharks. Back in the 2019-20 season, he was the assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies.
The last time he coached a EuroLeague team was back in the 2017-18 season when he was a head coach of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
