Stevan Jelovac felt unwell during AEK Athens's training session and was transferred to the hospital.

The 32-year-old Serbian forward had strong malaise and fainting tendencies, during Sunday's training session. According to the doctors that treat him and based on the first diagnosis, he most likely suffered a stroke.

For the time being, the player is intensive care, in order for his condition to be fully monitored and controlled.

Jelovac suffered an ankle injury on October 30, in AEK's game against Ionikos, and while undergoing rehabilitation in the gym he felt unwell. The latest estimates report that the athlete is out of danger, but remains hospitalized.

AEK BC issued a statement on the state of the Serbian player:

"The often unfortunate Stevan Jelovac was rushed to the hospital today, due to a serious problem with his health. The family of the "Queen" is at his side from the first moment and wishes him strength and courage in order for him to overcome this adventure.

We ask the media, the fans, and everyone to respect these moments and our athlete. There will be an update on whatever is deemed necessary.
