Sexton is the leading scorer on the surprising Cavaliers, who are 7-4 on the young season while playing without Kevin Love and Lauri Markkanen (both in health and safety protocols) and Isaac Okoro (left hamstring strain). He is averaging 16.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
On Sunday, Sexton had eight points and four assists in 13 minutes before leaving the game.
In his absence, veteran guard Ricky Rubio started the second half and turned in a dominant performance with a career-high 37 points, eight 3-pointers, and 10 assists. He became the first player in NBA history to record at least 30 points and 10 assists while making eight 3-point shots as a reserve.
Collin Sexton holds NBA career averages of 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 218 contests.
