Panathinaikos OPAP Athens (4-1) overcame PAOK (1-4) 81-64 (25-11, 17-17, 24-22, 15-14) to redeem themselves after a big blow in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
Panathinaikos came out strong from the first minute, spurting 12-2. The Greens gained a 20-point lead in the second quarter (31-11).
Even though PAOK managed to cut the deficit to 6 points in the third quarter (44-50), Panathinaikos answered with a 10-0 run to restore the solid advantage (60-44).
From that moment, Panathinaikos did not give a chance for PAOK to come back into the game. The Greens celebrated a comfortable win.
Georgios Papagiannis was one rebound away from a double-double. He posted 16 points (8/9 2PT), 9 rebounds, 4 turnovers, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
David DiLeo was a bright spot for PAOK, scoring 17 points (0/1 2PT, 5/8 3PT, 2/2 FT).
