UNICS tied the game at 55 with 5 minutes remaining in the game. Andrey Vorontsevic brought them a one-point lead with 1:12 remaining (59-58).

Lorenzo Brown and John Brown both recorded two interceptions, pulling away 63-58 and sealing a seven-point victory.

"I am very happy because to win against Madrid is always very difficult," UNICS coach Velimir Perasovic said post-game." To win against them, you need to play really, really good defense. We made great defense, especially in the first and last quarters. To keep Madrid on 11 or 7 points in one quarter is very difficult.

Real struggled to score to start the game. They only scored 11 in the first period and were down 11-21 in the second.

However, they came back in the second period, as Sergio Llull hit a leaning 3-pointer to cut his team's deficit to one point going into halftime (34-35). They pulled away by seven in the third (48-41).

Four players from UNICS collected more than 10 PIR each. Andrey Voronstevich played another great game, with 13 points (3/4 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 1/2 FT), 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 turnover, and 12 PIR.

Walter Tavares led Real with 15 points (5/6 2PT, 5/8 FT), 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals, 1 block, 4 turnovers, and 28 PIR.

"I think they played much more aggressive than us, and when they had a bad moment in the game, they hit important threes that made them come back," Real coach Pablo Laso told reporters after the game. "Our fourth quarter was terrible offensively. We only got 7 points, our percentages were bad, we didn't execute well."

UNICS: Andrey Vorontsevich 13, Mario Hezonja 13 (8 REB), Lorenzo Brown 9, Isaiah Canaan 9, Marco Spissu 7 (9 AST), John Brown 6 (5 STL).

Real: Walter Tavares 15 (7 REB), Guerschon Yabusele 13, Alberto Abalde 19, Sergio Llull 5, Vincent Poirier 5.
