Bayern in the German clubs’ duel 82-69 (19-18, 18-18, 20-19, 25-14) beat ALBA Berlin (2-5).

For the whole game, both teams went neck and neck, so the winner was decided at the very end. However, Bayern were the ones to make a decisive push.

Darrun Hilliard made a jumper, Nick Weiler-Babb scored four points in a row, and with 3:25 left to play, Bayern were leading 68-62.

Oscar Da Silva managed to answer with a lay-up, but Corey Walden and Weiler-Babb sank two 3-pointers and with less than a minute left to play, Bayern increased the lead to 10 points (74-64), which was enough to secure a victory.

Hilliard was Bayern’s top scorer as he finished the game with 25 points (4/8 2PT, 4/9 3PT, 5/5 FT), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover, 6 drawn fouls, and 29 PIR.

"Coach came into the locker room and told us it’s a great opportunity for us - go seize it. Berlin is a great team. The coach is great, great players. We just wanted it a little bit more. And down the stretch guys made big plays. Nick Babb came up big for us. Corey, Othello. It was a team win, led by coach," said Hilliard post-game.

"It was an ugly game. It’s always like that in back-to-backs. You are drained from the first game. You have to travel and play - for both teams. So you need to win a game, like it’s wrestling in the mud. You’re heavy and you’re slow.

But we found a way to be better in transition, we found a way to find the hot players. That was very important. Othello [Hunter], Darrun [Hilliard], and Corey [Walden] were the game-changers. But this is a team win," told Andrea Trinchieri.

Meanwhile, ALBA were led by Maodo Lo, who accumulated 23 points (4/5 2PT, 3/6 3PT, 6/6 FT), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 5 drawn fouls, and 25 PIR.

"Congratulations to Bayern Munich. It was a good game for us - tight for almost 35 minutes. But in the last 5 minutes they were very good: scoring all the threes and also with good defense. And they deserved the win.

I’m happy with the effort of the players. I’m happy with the commitment. Now we have to keep working on our ideas and try to recover our players," spoke Israel Gonzalez.

ALBA: Maodo Lo 23 (3/6 3PT, 25 PIR), Luke Sikma 10, Oscar Da Silva 9.

Bayern: Darrun Hilliard 25 (4/8 2PT, 4/9 3PT, 29 PIR), Nick Weiler-Babb 16 (4/5 2PT), Othello Hunter 13 (6/8 2PT, 8 REB).
