Tyler Cavanaugh was forced to miss yesterday's Zalgiris Kaunas game against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv because a PCR test, taken before departure from Lithuania, came back positive.
Cavanaugh had two rapid antigen tests performed afterward, both of them coming back negative. However, Zalgiris was informed that according to local regulations, Cavanaugh was not allowed to leave his hotel room until another PCR came back negative.
The result of the third PCR test came back negative today, and Cavanaugh was allowed to leave Israel, Zalgiris announced today.
"As expected, Tyler Cavanaugh's repeat PCR test came back negative. The Zalgiris man was admitted a special permit to leave the country, and the team will soon depart Tel Aviv for Istanbul."
The 27-year-old will be available for Zalgiris' next game against Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Friday.
