The Spanish team 85-81 (25-25, 24-19, 17-22, 19-15) beat Promitheas Patras (0-2) away from home.
With 2:13 left to play, Ray Kendrick made a 3-pointer and cut the hosts' deficit to 1 point (80-81). However, Artem Pustovyi answered with a bucket, while John Shurna made both free throws at the end and secured Gran Canaria's victory (85-81).
Gran Canaria was led by Shurna, who finished the game with 17 points (4/6 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 3/3 FT), 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, and 26 PIR.
